Andy Najar has been suspended two additional games by the MLS Disciplinary Committee, meaning he'll miss all of D.C. United's Eastern Conference final against the Houston Dynamo. Najar had already sat out the mandatory one game suspension he received after being shown a red card for throwing the ball at the referee in the first leg of the Eastern Conference semifinals against theNew York Red Bulls.

The MLS Players' Union had appealed the suspension. But after Commissioner Don Garber heard the appeal, the suspension was upheld.

"The Disciplinary Committee determined that Najar's conduct put the League in disrepute," the release said.

The incident occurred late in United's home game against the Red Bulls. Najar was called for a professional foul, stopping a Red Bulls counter-attack. Najar was shown a yellow card and he reacted by grabbing the ball and throwing it directly at the referee. He followed that up by staring down the referee.
