GameThread 28: D.C. United Vs. Real Salt Lake

DC United tends to get up for big games, just as much as the team tends to beat weak opponents on the road but not at home. This is a big game, and it will be a difficult one. But if we know this team, then we know that it will also be a close one, and one that we have the potential to win.

Game time: 7:30 PM

TV: None. The match is on DirectKick or Matchday Live only unfortunately.

Projected starting lineup: Against Chivas USA, Ben Olsen used the exact starting lineup we all hoped he'd use, and the team turned in a disappointing performance. Tonight, I have a feeling he'll use a starting lineup that most of us will hate, but will play pretty well.

With Josh Wolff still less than 100%, I can see Olsen moving Dwayne De Rosario back up to forward next to Charlie Davies. It makes some sense because playing up top would get DeRo away from Kyle Beckerman, and give him more chances to try to find the holes (if there are any) in the RSL defense. This lineup would then have Andy Najar and Austin Da Luz starting on the wings, with Clyde Simms and either Santino Quaranta (if he plays - he's listed as questionable) or Stephen King in the middle.

The defense and goalkeeper positions will be unchanged with Daniel Woolard, Brandon McDonald, Ethan White, and Perry Kitchen playing from left to right, and Bill Hamid in net.
