Hurricane / MLS Weekend OpenThread

If you've been following me on Twitter the past few days, then you already know that Hurricane Irene has seriously altered my own plans for the weekend, forcing me to return from a Delaware beach house 2.5 days sooner than anticipated. The hurricane also forced postponement of the D.C. United vs. Portland Timbers match that was scheduled for tonight, and also for this afternoon. So instead I'll be spending my weekend reading cases on Marketing For Social Value ahead of my next MBA class, teaching me daughter to walk more efficiently, scouting fantasy football sleepers (love Danny Amendola - he'll play the Wes Welker role in Josh McDaniels' offense in St. Louis), and trying to convince my dog that she only really has to go outside two or three times a day.

But I'll also be keeping my eyes on MLS. Even though D.C. has received a reprieve from playing this weekend, the team will be interested in results elsewhere in the league.

So I'll be rooting for the Vancouver Whitecaps to prevent the Houston Dynamo from stealing points on the road. The Dynamo are tied for third in the East, but have played two fewer matches than United.

And I'll be rooting for FC Dallas to play their starters against Sporting Kansas City in a big matchup between two projected playoff teams.

And I'll be rooting for Real Salt Lake to slow down Chivas USA, who are tied with United at 31 points and in competition for a wild card spot.

That's what I'll be doing. What will you be doing this weekend?
