DC United takes a break from league action this weekend, and will play host to English Premier League club Everton FC tonight in the sweltering heat of RFK Stadium. Everton lost to the Philadelphia Union 1-0 earlier this week, and is in the early stages of their preparation for the EPL season.
Game time: 7:30 PM
Television: Fox Soccer
Projected starting lineup: It's hard to say who will start and who will come off the bench, but it also doesn't really matter. Every healthy player on the United roster will get at least some playing time. And some players who don't get in very often, or haven't gotten in for several weeks, will get extensive time. Look for Dejan Jakovic and Marc Burch to get back into the lineup, seeing their first minutes with the first team in quite a while. We expect Jakovic to usurp his starting defensive position from Ethan White as soon as next Saturday, so this will be a good chance to show that he still deserves to be a first choice starter. We'll also see some rarely used reserves like Kurt Morsink, Conor Shanosky, and Steve Cronin get extensive time on the field.
