GameThread 19: D.C. United Vs. New England Revolution

D.C. United is once again on the road tonight against one of the best teams in the league. No? That can’t be right. Actually they’re at home against one of the worst teams in the league. For United to prove that they deserve to be considered one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, they need to beat the New England Revolution tonight.

Game time: 7:30 PM

TV: Comcast SportsNet

Projected starting lineup: Since Josh Wolff and Dejan Jakovic are still listed as probable while coming back from injuries, I think they’ll each be held out of the starting lineup for one more match. That means that we’ll see the same backline that hasn’t allowed a goal in over 180 minutes of Perry Kitchen, Ethan White, Brandon McDonald, and Daniel Woolard. Bill Hamid will make his 16th straight start in goal. I expect to see a slightly more attacking front six than we saw against FC Dallas last week, with Dwayne De Rosario taking over for Joseph Ngwenya as the withdrawn forward behind Charlie Davies. In his final match with D.C., Fred da Silva will start as the central attacking midfielder, with Chris Pontius and Andy Najar on the wings, and Clyde Simms at the bottom of the "T" midfield.
