Lots of storylines are brewing for this edition of the newfound rivalry between D.C. United and the Philadelphia Union. Its the teacher Piotr Nowak vs. the pupil Ben Olsen. Its Dwayne De Rosario's first match in D.C. Its possibly Carlos Ruiz's last match in MLS. How will the teams react to the added pressure of what could be a critical match to determine playoff position in the Eastern Conference? We'll find out tonight at RFK Stadium.
Game time: 7:00 PM
Television: Fox Soccer
Projected starting lineup: Both of United's new acquisitions - De Rosario and central defender Brandon McDonald - will have to step into the lineup immediately for D.C. If that wasn't true before, its definitely true now that we've seen hints at the severity of Jed Zayner's injury. This means that Perry Kitchen will slide back to the right, leaving Ethan White in the middle next to McDonald and Daniel Woolard on the left. De Rosario will replace Dax McCarty in the starting lineup while playing a more advanced role. The rest of the midfield and attack will be unchanged from last week's draw with the Houston Dynamo. Clyde Simms will be the central defensive midfielder, with Chris Pontius and Andy Najar on the wings, and Josh Wolff and Charlie Davies up top.
