GameThread 18: D.C. United Vs. FC Dallas

D.C. United will face the heat and one of the best teams in the league tonight as they pay a visit to FC Dallas. The two teams played to a scoreless draw earlier this season at RFK Stadium, but each could look different tonight due to injuries for United and schedule congestion for FCD.

Game time: 9:00 PM

TV: Comcast SportsNet

Projected starting lineup: The backline could see the return of Dejan Jakovic, who has been participating in practice with the first team this week, but I think they'll be more likely to stay with the players who shut out the New York Red Bulls last week. That would mean Perry Kitchen on the right, Daniel Woolard on the left, and Ethan White and Brandon McDonald in the middle. United will have tough decisions to make in the attack though as we discussed yesterday. With Josh Wolff listed as questionable with a hamstring strain and Blake Brettschneider out with a concussion. Hopefully Wolff will be fit enough to start, but the club is probably more likely to insert Joseph Ngwenya in his place, joining Charlie Davies up top. If this is the case, then the midfield will remain the same as used last week, with Clyde Simms and Dwayne De Rosario playing centrally, and Andy Najar and Chris Pontius on the wings. Bill Hamid will of course start in goal.
