The United States is in action today in the Nation's Capital, and it just happens to be the most important match that the Americans have played since the World Cup last year. If the U.S. doesn't get its act together and plays like they did in a 2-1 loss to Panama and a narrow 1-0 win over Guadeloupe earlier in the Gold Cup, this could also possibly be Bob Bradley's last match as head coach.
Game time: 3:00 PM
Television: Fox Soccer Channel
Projected starting lineup: There's no time for tinkering now that we're in the elimination round of the tournament. I'd expect to see the same starting lineup that the U.S. used against Guadeloupe last week. That means Carlos Bocanegra and Clarence Goodson will be in the middle once again (Oguchi Onyewu has been sitting out from practice due to illness) while Eric Lichaj and Steve Cherundolo will be on the outside. Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey will be lining up on the wings after returning from their cross-country travels early this morning, and Michael Bradley and Jermaine Jones will try to hold down the middle. Jozy Altidore and Chris Wondolowski are the likely choices at forward, and Tim Howard will of course be in goal.
We at B&RU are trying to cover this game as well (or as poorly) as we cover D.C. United games, so let's call this your place for pre-game, in-game, and post-game discussion.
