GameThread 14: D.C. United Vs. Real Salt Lake

After a five-game undefeated streak that included clean sheets against the two top teams in the Western Conference, D.C. United suffered a set-back last week at the hands of the San Jose Earthquakes. United will look to get back on track on the road tonight against Real Salt Lake.

Game time: 9:00 PM

Television: Comcast SportsNet

Projected Starting Lineup: Its possible that Ben Olsen will make some changes in his lineup this week following last week's poor defensive effort, but I think the only change to the defense will be the re-insertion of right back Jed Zayner, who is the healthiest he's been since Week 1. Hopefully Zayner will be enough to right the ship as he'll join up with Perry Kitchen, Ethan White, and Daniel Woolard along the backline. With Dax McCarty returning to health and Fred da Silva soon leaving the country, the midfield should also improve. McCarty will line up next to Clyde Simms, Andy Najar, and Chris Pontius. Up top, Blake Brettschneider is likely to give way once again to Charlie Davies, who will join Josh Wolff once again in the starting lineup.

For the last road game, I tried a little bit called "What Should I Drink?" and it was a massive failure. Let's try something new this week...

Twitter voting is now open for the 2011 MLS All-Star Game. The rules entail that to vote via Twitter, you must include the hashtag #MLSAllstar, the mention @MLS, and either the player's full name with no spaces or his Twitter handle. Since many of us are going to be tweeting about the game anyway, let's make something of it. So when you tweet something about the game, just make sure that you put the player's name in correctly, and all #MLSAllstar @MLS to the end. It's just 16 more characters.

Here's some examples:

"Oh my God! @CharlieDavies9 just scored an Ovechtrick! #MLSAllstar @MLS"

"Woah. How did @blakebrett11 teleport across the field like that? #MLSAllstar @MLS"

"Why is kurtmorsink in the game? Oh wait, he just got carded again. #MLSAllstar @MLS"
