The Portland Timbers have never lost or tied at JELD-WEN Field. Well D.C. United hasn't either! One of those statements will no longer be true by the end of the night. The Timbers are 5-0-0 since joining the league, but many of their victories have been less than dominant. They're beatable. But will United be the first team to do it?
Game time: 5:00 PM
Television: Comcast SportsNet
Projected starting lineup: Josh Wolff is listed as probable and I see no reason why he can't start to partner with Joseph Ngwenya at the top of the formation, since Charlie Davies is likely to be held out of this match (although he did accompany the team on the trip, meaning he'll probably be active against the Los Angeles Galaxy on Friday). Even though I'm personally hoping for something different, I think we're most likely to see the regulars throughout the rest of the lineup. Clyde Simms and Dax McCarty will occupy the central midfield spots between Chris Pontius and Andy Najar, while Perry Kitchen, Dejan Jakovic, Ethan White, and Daniel Woolard will hold down the fort in the back, and Bill Hamid will start in goal.
