Atlantic Cup leg 1. Its on.
D.C. United hosts the New York Red Bulls in the biggest game so far of the 2011 season. United is off to a quality 2-2-1 start, and a win tonight would vault them into a tie for first place in the Eastern Conference. Its Ben Olsen's first time meeting the Red Bulls since earning the Head Coach title. They're a team that he dominated as a player. He'll try to continue that success tonight on the sidelines in front of what should be a raucous RFK Stadium crowd.
Game time: 8:00 PM
Television: ESPN2
Starting lineup: There's only one change to either starting lineup since the teams' respective matches on Saturday. Perry Kitchen returns from illness and international duty for just his second match of the season. He'll join the back-line that consists of fellow Akron rookie Chris Korb, Dejan Jakovic, and the veteran 26-year old Marc Burch. United's midfield will once again see Fred da Silva earn the start ahead of Andy Najar on the right, with last week's hero Chris Pontius lining up again on the left, and Dax McCarty and Clyde Simms occupying the middle. Charlie Davies will get his second start of the year, partnering with Josh Wolff up top.
