A comment from Peter Wilt on the gloriously terrible decision by the Revs to hire Jay Heaps as their head coach referred to him as a "poor man's Ben Olsen...poorer man's Jason Kreis," which got me thinking: How is Benny doing to MLS's best young coach? Turns out he's doing virtually identically to Kreis. After 46 games, Olsen's record is 12W-13D-21L, -10GD, 58GF-68GA. Kreis had the same W-D-L record after 46 games. The tie is only broken by goal differential, where Kreis is -7 (52GF-59GA; my tweet says -8, because I can't count). So, you wanted something to feel good about? Jay "I can't really offer any cogent analysis of soccer" Heaps is coaching a conference rival, and Benny is actually coming along just fine for a young coach.
