Andy Najar receives Honduras call-up, may have one final offer from Anderlecht

Andy Najar will be a member of the Honduran team that will face the United States on February 6 in the first game of the Hexagonal and may have one final Anderlecht offer coming. Meanwhile, Nick DeLeon turns down a call-up from Trinidad and Tobago.

In what is being described as a surprising move in the Honduran press, Andy Najar has received a call-up to their National Team's game against the United States on February 6. This will be both team's first game of the Hexagonal, the final round of Concacaf qualifying for the 2014 World Cup. Should Najar make the field, this would be his first appearance in a World Cup qualifier, making it likely that he is being groomed for a possible role in the rest of qualification and the World Cup itself.

At this point, Najar also seems very likely to return to D.C. United after his loan with Anderlecht expires, barring some last minute third offer from the Belgian team. United has already rejected one offer that was described by Ben Olsen as not being serious. However, in some late breaking news, there is reportedly another offer on the table and that there should be an answer from United on it today. With an injured Brek Shea getting around $6 million in a transfer to Stoke City, Najar can't be let go for a pittance; even with this new offer, I still expect Najar to be back. But who knows? Stranger things have happened.

Nick DeLeon, on the other hand, has turned down another offer to play for Trinidad and Tobago, this time in their upcoming friendly against Peru. The reasoning behind it is fairly simple: DeLeon was born in the United States, has never been to Trinidad, and at this point is focused on making it to the United States Men's National Team. However, he did not completely rule out playing for Trinidad and Tobago in the future.
