Fellow SBN-er Alicia Ratteree over at The Goat Parade is also a contributor to the relatively new XI Quarterly, a print (!!) magazine covering soccer with four well-developed, themed editions each year. They are completely subscriber-supported, and they want to keep doing their good work. Check them out, and if you think they warrant your hard-earned money, subscribe and get that printed media goodness for yourself.
Welp, Steven Goff is now reporting that Dwayne De Rosario has a muscle straing and will be out for the game against Sporting Kansas City. With that in mind, this is my revised lineup prediction for that match. I actually think that Kyle Porter is a little more likely to start, with Marcos Sanchez moving into the middle, but I hope that Raphael Augusto can get his first start in a United uniform. What do you all want to see with the captain out?
The game started well for the hosts and seemed to be a just a matter of time until they could score. However Henry's misses, Espindula's unlucky post hits and a save in the last minute from DC United's goalkeeper kept the score level.
If you aren't going to D.C. United's match in Jersey this weekend, you might not want to leave the house on Saturday. At all. At least not after noon. It starts with a half-hour pregame show to lead into Metros vs. United, and ends 10 hours later after the post-game Seattle and Portland. In between, live cut-ins on several ongoing games. It's as close to NFL Red Zone we're going to see for MLS anytime soon. Should be awesome.
All I want are your best captions for this picture. You can read the article, too, if you want.
Former Modena centerback Armando Perna, 31, is being linked with a move to DC United at TuttoMercatoWeb.com. He's currently out of contract.
