D.C. United
In a move that screams "How many trophies have you won?", D.C. United is aiming to get fans excited for the season and out to the club's bar partners by taking their 12 domestic and international trophies around to area watering holes. We've got the complete schedule.
Tomorrow, D.C. United will begin a two-week Trophy Tour that will see the club's four MLS Cup trophies make the rounds at bars all over the National Capital Region. The tour will run all the way up to the day before United's home opener and will hit locations in D.C. and Virginia, as far away as Richmond. (Hey Maryland bars, get with the program, already!) We've got all the dates and locations right here for easy reference.
I know I'm going to try to make it out to one of the dates - probably one that has some kind of game-watching associated with it, and I'm sure several other staffers and readers here will be doing the same, so let us know in the comments if you're heading out to any of the trophy appearances. After all, how nice will it be to tell your friends up in New Jersey what the 1999 MLS Cup (or any piece of silverware) tastes like?
