I've been wondering lately if there are any academy players that we can look forward to seeing on the first squad. I personally don't follow the academy teams all too much but I've heard that ours are among the best around and I know that we have the best retention and contribution rate by HGPs in the league. Given that we signed so many home grown players in a short time frame (Hamid, Najar, Shanosky and White) it seems odd that things have been pretty quiet for about two years now. There's always been a lot of talk about the academy system eventually replacing the draft and with this years draft being described as "shallow" and 60 Minute's recent Barça story that emphasized their academy I guess I've just had the subject on my mind. Does anyone know if we have any prospects that could end up joining the first squad soon?
