There has been no official word from the club yet, but Steve Goff of the Washington Post is reporting that the club has signed former Championship left midfielder Lucas Neal. Neal, most recently of Orlando City SC of USL Pro, has also played for Stoke City, IBV, Preston North End, Notts County, Carlisle United, and Shrewsbury Town. He started in last season's USL Pro Championship Game, which Orlando City won on penalties. This presumably is the last signing the D.C. United will make, barring injury, and also presumably means that Ryan Richter will be let go. It was widely rumored the the two were competing for one spot on the team. Update 3:44pm: It is now official.
