The Black-and-Red Award Train Keeps on Rolling
For the third straight week, a DC United player has claimed the MLS Player of the Week crown. This week it's third-year midfielder Chris Pontius, who netted a brace against Vancouver to bring his season goal tally to seven. Dwayne De Rosario won the award in each of the last two weeks.
We might have to add another nickname to the laundry list of monickers Pontius has acquired since arriving in DC from UCSB. There's already Party Boy and Pretty Pretty Princess (and probably lots more I can't think of at the moment). If he keeps up his current form, though, defenders around the league will have to start just calling him Sir.

De Ro
I’d say he’s well on track for player-of-the-month, too.
Yet another indication why this year is better than last
Did any United player win player of the week last year? My memory isn’t that good.
game at seatle?
didn’t party boy score a hat trick? I don’t remember if he got player of the week tho
I believe his third goal was credited to Adam Cristman
No idea about PotW.

Yes, 2 goals, 1 assist, and a POTW award for Pontius that week.
I’m still convinced that the Seattle match may have been the ONLY match the entire season that Pontius was fully healthy.

funny enough that's the only match that sticks out in my head from last season
the rest is a horrid, messy blur
