In amongst this post from Steve Goff is a note that Dave Kasper admits that the club needs another right back. Considering that a) Jed Zayner has been terribly unlucky with injuries, b) Perry Kitchen is better at two other positions, c) Chris Korb's appearances have coincided with some very bad scorelines (not all his fault, but still), and d) Devon McTavish's entire career is in limbo, Kasper may have a point. So where do we look? Inside MLS, the best trade partner would likely be the San Jose Earthquakes, who currently have Steven Beitashour starting ahead of the more experienced Chris Leitch and Tim Ward (who just came back from injury last night...to replace the now-injured Beitashour). Sporting Kansas City could also be a candidate, with Chance Myers, Michael Harrington, and Luke Sassano all having experience at right back. Outside of MLS, things get more speculative. Mauricio Sabillon is first-choice for Honduras and has flirted with MLS in the past, but is also 32 (someone in MLS should have signed him 4-5 years ago). His international teammate Juan Carlos Garcia is just 23 and also first choice, but is more of a left back that can also play on the right...maybe we should sign him anyway? Feel free to throw out random right backs we could target in the comments.
