Toronto is the 3rd best soccer team in MLS
Says Javier Martina:
"From my point of view, there are only two teams who are really better soccer teams, and that's Seattle and Real Salt Lake. Other than that, not even Los Angeles or New York are all that different [from us].
That was among the funnier tidbits I found in this article. I'm no fan of LA's style of play, and I'm no fan of RBNY/NYRB, but...that's quite a boast there. Especially coming from someone on a team with such a fantastic defense and great technical players. And of course the pretentiousness, lamenting about the use of the "MLS-style long ball" from his teammates. Maybe all those trades will help Toronto out...but hopefully Dallas hands them a nice heap of goals in the meantime.

If we're talking about attractive play, Toronto is disqualified
There’s nothing attractive about being incompetent. Martina should avoid talking while he’s on the bench for a laughingstock.

What single trait do they have to boost?
They try to keep the ball on the ground and attack
TFC wants to play the “right” way, which just generally means they want to own possession and attack. It’s also the hardest way to play, and they are really bad at it. Even with the new additions, there’s not enough technical ability in their defense or midfield to pull it off. They also lack the ability to press high up the field, which means they are all too easy to attack.
So, in short, the answer to your question is that their best trait other than their fans and stadium is their dream of playing soccer that is fun to watch and gets results. Dreams aren’t tangible, though, so they end up in situations like this, where a back up player thinks they play stylishly.
