CONCACAF Club Rankings For The First Decade
I'm currently working up a response to Sounder at Heart's good discussion on dynasties in MLS. This is actually a little tangential to that post, but I thought it was worth noting that IFFHS's club world rankings for the decade are out now, and their top MLS side for the years 2001-2010 is none other than the Black-and-Red, followed closely by Houston, with L.A., Chicago, and the Crew rounding out the top five.
No MLS teams cracked the top 20 in CONCACAF (United came in at #21), and the top of the rankings is predictably dominated by Mexican clubs. Hopefully MLS will make strides toward changing that in the next decade.

Lets go Washington DC United!
So despite being the worst team in MLS in 2010, United was still the best team overall for the decade. Even better than New England Revolution Foxborough!
I don’t put much stock in these rankings though. Not only is there a clear bias against MLS, but there’s also some weak Mexican teams ahead of Marathon and Firpo.
Also, the Sounders don’t even make the top 100 when they are clearly the best team on this continent, and most other continents.
