Around SBN: 'You Just Have to Put Him to Sleep'

This is no longer a surprise development, but DC United goalkeeper Bill Hamid is in Jurgen Klinsmann's January squad for a lengthy training camp and matches against Venezuela (January 21st) and Panama (January 25th).

These matches represent Hamid's best chance yet at getting his first cap. Klinsmann's squad is comprised of players from MLS and Scandinavia (save Ricardo Clark, who is so far down the bench at Eintracht Frankfurt that the German side apparently had no problem with him leaving for a month during the season), so normal #1 Tim Howard will not be present. Hamid's competition for time will come from Nick Rimando of Real Salt Lake and Sean Johnson of the Chicago Fire.
