"Former D.C. United star Fred is making the attacking midfield position his own. (We can only wonder how much he could assist matters back at his old RFK Stadium address.)"
Do we miss Fred?

Maybe a little, given Castillo’s inability to adapt to MLS. However, I think that piece is badly overstating Fred’s impact in Philly. He’s been slightly better there than he was in DC. How much of that is a more settled life off the field? How much of that is simply being coached by Peter Nowak rather than Tom Soehn?
Most MLS articles about expansion teams are overheated and too quick to praise. Take away their game against us, and Philly has just 2 goals in 3 matches (and fairly few chances, to boot). The Union players we could really, really use are actually Le Toux and Miglioranzi.
