For what it’s worth, I don’t think San Jose is very good. They’ve just scratched out wins over a pretty poor Chicago team and did what we should have done against a bunkering Revs team at home.

I’m not saying that I would expect us to beat them. I’m just saying they might not belong on a list of teams you’d expect to thrash us like LA, RSL, Columbus, and Seattle.

I watched the LA/RSL match last night and if you weren’t familiar with MLS, I think you would reasonably assume that those 2 teams were in a division above DC and Chicago. The Galaxy specifically will crush us if we don’t improve. With or without Buddle and Donovan.

Depressed

Just plain down on the team, no green shoots of hope right now… can only go up from here right? Chest, Shatz, where can we find hope???

Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch’intrate

Here’s my actual, pathetic list of where United fans can find hope right now:

- Najar is developing more with each appearance, and there’s no hype machine building to ruin it. We can look forward to his continued improvement.
- The loud side was fertile ground for gallows humor under Rongen and Hudson. Expect your fellow supporters to shake off the rust in the next few weeks and really hit top form by June.
- Wallace is already better at left back than Burch. There’s still plenty of room for improvement, but he’s slightly further along than I thought he’d be.
- The return of Simms will at least make it more difficult to play right through us.
- C-A-P-S CAPS CAPS CAPS!

Other than that, if you drink, you will become well-liked at your local liquor store and/or bar.
