In a sharp contrast from last week's rankings, we're now starting to see lots of movement between tiers.  Funny that I specifically called for the SBN soccer bloggers/voters to give ourselves a pat on the back for having our week 1 rankings be such an accurate predictor of our week 2 rankings.  Not this time!

LA moves ahead of the Crew at the top, and not only are they the only team this week to earn all top tier votes, but they also were ranked #1 by every voter this week.  Pretty impressive.  The Wizards also make a leap into the top tier for the first time after their second straight shutout.

Notice anything different about the second tier this week?  Yes, it only has 3 teams in it.  Which makes sense because with the Rapids and Dynamo tied, we didn't want to have to put one team with a vote count of 11 in the second tier and one in the third tier.

New England continues their charge up the rankings after their second impressive win in a row, while the Sounders continue to fall.  Apparently none of the other bloggers agreed with me that FC Dallas is a team worthy of the second tier.  Eh, they'll see!

The biggest surprise of the week though might be the Earthquakes escaping the bottom tier for the first time and swapping places with the Fire on the heels of their well-earned road victory.

Think we got it right this week?

Sadly DCU at the bottom, bizarro world image of what should be… Putting a pounding on Chicago this weekend would do my soul a world of good… Vamos United!!

The fourth tier shall not be renamed from “Teams that should be relegated.”
