PrintSo the news of the day (besides many an April Fools joke) is that there are more DP spots available now and Mr. Chang is talking about getting a DP for DC... who would make an impact on this team? What would the FO do to avoid another Gallardo debacle? Creative midfielder would seem to be the role we'd look for, can't see anything else getting DP bucks. What says the braintrust? Should DC even get a DP?

I don’t think DC has any intentions of using 2 or 3 DPs. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see us add 1 this summer.

We should still be able to solve our problems within the cap. We have the space, and there are players out there who would be willing to play in MLS for less than a DP salary. What we need is to spot and evaluate talent more consistently, and to be a bit more persuasive.
If Columbus can keep Schelotto aboard for less than a DP salary, and we’re stuck playing Quaranta out of position, we are making a mistake somewhere.

Still amazed that Columbus got GBS for less than DP salary in the first place. The guy has been pure quality. Would love to see the DCU braintrust unearth that kind of gem. Maybe Fred’s little brother is a clone of him who can score goals…
